December was the coldest I can ever remember and as a result sales were not as good as expected. However January has been very encouraging with sales of cyclamen and primroses at levels better than last year.

With Valentines and Mothers day coming up I am hoping for good sales in all flowering plants.I have been very encouraged by the sales of planted bowls, baskets and hanging baskets which are on the availability lists nearly all the year.A lot of this is down to Barry who is mainly responsible for making them up and this is an area I will be expanding upon this year.

The nursery has started sowing veg seed and potting fuchsias, geraniums, basket plants etc so things are well under way for the spring, lets hope its a good one.

What a long cold winter it has been. Sales in January and February as a result were poor. However the last two weeks with the build up to Mothers day have been a lot better. We expect to start selling Basket Plants,Fuchsias and geraniums in about a week.

Vegetable plant sales have started well and look like they will increase on last year. The new label we have had printed celebrating 100years will help the sales of veg as it is large and stands out.

Lets keep our fingers crossed for good weather at Easter.

Happy New Year to all of our customers old and new.

At the start of 2009 it looked like the year was gonig to be very difficult but to my surprise sales started very well in January and kept on going throughout the year. It turned out to be a very good year with the nursery producing and selling record numbers of plants. In a lot of cases we could have sold more.

As a result of our success we will be expanding our operations over the next twelve months and growing more of the popular products. Vegetables seem to be very much the in thing, so we will be introducing our own large label celebrating 100 years in business to go with a lot of these products.

2010 has not started very well but with snow on the ground we can not expect to much. I am confident however that once the snow clears sales of primroses and potted bulbs will gather pace.
